Oven Dish Set

We are delighted to have acquired some stoneware by the accomplished studio potter Darren Ellis. Based at the esteemed Maze Hill pottery in Greenwich London, Darren crafts his beautiful, simple and functional pieces with thought and skill. Using his own considered "glaze chemistry" each piece in wonderfully unique. The salt/soda kiln or gas kiln further depicts the finish obtained making these cooking, serving & presentational pieces most special. 

Oven Dish Set

Designed for slow cooking in the oven and serving. The unglazed exterior gives real texture when fired in the salt kiln. The high iron content of the clay gives an attractive “reddish” hue. The pieces are thickly thrown which helps each dish retain heat. A pair of rectangular dishes in which the smaller “nests” within the large.
