The origins of Kaweco go back to the year 1883. For 140 years, Kaweco has been writing history with high-quality writing instruments and therefore is known as one of the oldest brands in its sector. With the Kaweco EBONIT Sport, Kaweco takes you on a journey through time. Not only is the shape of the popular Sport model inspired by products from over a hundred years ago, but the material used also has a historical origin. In a time when the injection moulding process had not yet been invented, ebonite was often the material of choice for writing instruments. The name ebonite goes back to ebony, which is very similar to hard rubber in colour and hardness. The expressive marbling and the highly polished surface suggest the appearance of valuable exotic wood. The composition of the material with natural rubber and sulphur is totally natural. The combination with gold-plated elements underlines the nostalgic character of the fountain pen and enhances the warm brown grain. A complex burin engraving perfectly complements the history-steeped craftmanship.

As a perfect addition, the limited set includes a nostalgic clip in gold to attach the pen securely to a writing pad. Besides the standard royal blue ink cartridge in the fountain pen, there is also a convenient 10-pack of all Kaweco ink colours for individualising your own writing. Everything together is placed within a packaging, which is inspired by historical cardboard boxes from back then.

Note: Due to the contained sulphur, the pen develops a patina and becomes an unique collector’s item with its own individual colouring over time. The original condition can be restored with a simple polish.

We aim to dispatch your goods the next working day (Saturday and Sunday are not classed as working days by our couriers). Please allow 3-5 days for your order to arrive. Contact us at info@edinburghmercantile.co.uk if it does not arrive within this time period and we’ll endeavour to resolve any issue.

We charge £5 for UK postage & packaging on any order irrespective of the size of your parcel. We always use a certified courier or Royal Mail whom we trust to deliver safely and securely. Orders may require a signature upon delivery; this ensures that your parcel ends up exactly where it needs to be. Each parcel has a tracking number that we pay close attention to throughout its journey.

For INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING we are very happy to calculate postage costs for you. Please email info@edinburghmercantile.co.uk with the item details and the postal delivery address. We cannot take responsibility for any customs charges. Please research if these charges apply to your particular country prior to placing your order. It is your responsibility to pay for those.

All of our packaging is recycled & recyclable. For fragile items we use GeamiWrapPak® paper to ensure your products reach you in perfect and beautiful condition. Caring for our environment is very important to us. Please try to recycle your packaging.

RETURNS

We hope that you will love our products and that they become treasured over time. However, we do appreciate that there may be an instance where you wish to return something. If you are not entirely satisfied with your products we are happy to accept returns within 14 days of the original purchase date. Products must be unused, undamaged and in the original packaging.

Please email us promptly at info@edinburghmercantile.co.uk if you do feel you’d like to return your products. Unfortunately we are unable to cover the return postage cost. It is your choice to decide how to return your goods. We strongly advise you to insure your parcel as we are unable to issue credit for goods which are lost or damaged in transit. Please note that the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us so please re-package goods as securely as you can and ask for proof of postage from your post office or courier.

Please allow at least 7 days for us to process your return. Any postage costs for the original order sent from us to you are non-refundable. Your refund or exchange will be for the cost of goods only.

We are unable to offer a refund or exchange if 14 days lapse from the original purchase date.

In the unlikely event that you receive broken or defective goods please photograph the damage and email us within 2 days of receipt to info@edinburghmercantile.co.uk We will do everything we can to rectify the issue.
